3D Model representing the GNR Director’s Saloon built in 1897 to Diagram 14. This vehicle is currently preserved on the Bluebell Railway and is operated by the Howlden Trust.
The model has been broken down into its component parts. End user will need to devise their own orientation and supports to suit their printer and may choose to composite elements into larger printable structures.
The model parts can be combined to create two versions of the Saloon, as built for the GNR and as refurbished later in its life (as preserved). See the parts diagrams in the images directory.
Not supplied are seating, buffers or early style 6″ torpedo vents. All of these can be downloaded separately from the GNRS 3D Models area.
All these parts have successfully printed on my Anycubic Mono X resin printer. For printing in resin I chose to combine the roof, sides, ends and all internal partitions into one object. It was printed rotated on the Z axis by 25 degrees orientated parallel with the build plate then raised 8mm and combinations of light and medium supports added. The underframe was printed as a separate item. I will substitute a 1mm styrene floor and fix the underframe to it. The photo of the printed resin model (in the images directory) has been given a coat of AutoTek Filler Primer.
