Having successfully raised a sufficient sum of money to arrange the road transport of the carriage from Tanfield in the North East, its home since the 1980’s, down to Quainton Road, the home of the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre. This 5 compartment 6 wheeled ex Great Northern Railway carriage is now under cover waiting for the timbers to air dry and to allow the carriage to be dismantled and allow the process of restoration to be understood and begun.
The volunteers expect to begin work towards the end of 2024.
