We have a new publication that offers detailed information on the Clerestory coaching stock designed by E.F. Howlden and constructed at Doncaster Works for the Great Northern Railway (GNR). The introduction includes a brief historical overview of Cravens, Pullman, and MSLR Clerestory vehicles, which were among the first used in early dining car services.
The research for this publication has taken a number of years, and includes information from many different sources. Each coach features number series, diagrams, and, where available, photographs of vehicles.
Please note: this publication does not cover Clerestory vehicles built by the GNR for the East Coast Joint Stock, which served routes in Northern England and Scotland.
Vehicle diagrams included in this publication are shown in the photographs on the contents pages.
Sample page images from each diagram entry are provided with this product listing. The publication also includes a contents list, introduction, and an appendix that documents each vehicle by diagram, including modifications made throughout its service life. A short photo section is also included.
