Not part of the mainstream element of the GNR, but still a part of the make-up and background of the unified whole. There is a separate line society dedicated to the study of the M&GNJR – see the Other Line Societies section for a link to their website.

This is another of John Wrottesly’s significant titles and despite being long out of print it is still a major book on the subject and worth having on your shelves even if you tend to lean towards the mainstream side of the GNR. The GNR’s influence and reach stretched from Norfolk across to the Liverpool area with its various joint lines and the M&GNJR was a major contributor to excursion traffic along the North Norfolk coast
