Working & Management of an English Railway (The)(1890)

by George Findlay

(Also in Google Books online book – the online version does not include the pull-out images that are present in the book itself)

A late Victorian classic volume on how it was recommended railway services should be run as a generic and was used as a textbook for aspiring railway servants (as they were called in those days). This is not GNR-specific but gives a good idea of some of the thoughts on Railway Management at the time it was written. It was written and published as a result of a series of lectures given by the author.
